Emergency Medicine Residency and Educational Programs

As a leader in emergency medicine, TeamHealth actively gives back to the specialty through support of a number of emergency medicine residency and fellowship programs:


Tampa General Hospital. This hospital is the primary teaching hospital for the University of South Florida College of Medicine, and the hospital’s emergency medicine residency program serves a 12-county region.

 

The University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey Medical School. TeamHealth supports this osteopathic emergency medicine residency program.


The University of Tennessee Medical Center. TeamHealth participates in the family medicine, obstetrics, internal medicine, and surgical residencies as well as the family medicine and emergency medicine fellowship program.

NorthBay Medical Center. This facility serves as the community hospital rotation for third and fourth year residents of the Alameda County Medical Center emergency medicine residency program.


Memorial Hermann Memorial City Hospital. TeamHealth set up a rotation for University of Texas emergency medicine residents to rotate through this hospital.


St. John Westshore Hospital and South Point Hospital, are affiliates of the Cleveland Clinic Foundation. TeamHealth participates in these Cleveland-area osteopathic emergency medicine residency programs.

Integris Southwest Medical Center. TeamHealth supports the AOBEM residency program of this 92,000 volume ED in Oklahoma City. The program maintains 36 osteopathic emergency medicine residents.
 

For the past two years, TeamHealth sponsored grants supporting emergency medicine residents to travel to and participate in the INDO-US Emergency & Trauma Program in India.

In addition to the activities cited above, TeamHealth funds or partially funds faculty appointments at a number of medical schools throughout the country.
